What Payments Are Supported?
To allow clubs to accept online payments, Klubfunder requires each club to connect a supported payment provider.
Klubfunder currently supports the following payment providers:
- Stripe — accepts debit/credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
- GoCardless Growth Plan — processes Direct Debit payments directly from bank accounts.
- SumUp Growth Plan — accepts in-person card payments using a card reader.
Both options integrate seamlessly with Klubfunder and support a wide variety of payment models.
Why do I need a payment provider?
A payment provider securely processes online transactions on your behalf.
Klubfunder does not store card or bank details — all payments flow through Stripe, GoCardless or SumUp.

Stripe supports the following payment methods:

Payment Types Available
One-Off Card Payments
Customers pay the full amount upfront in a single transaction.Instalment Card Payments
Create payment plans so customers can pay over a set number of instalments.Recurring Card Payments
Automated weekly, monthly, or annual payments — ideal for lotto subscriptions or memberships.
GoCardless – Bank Account Payments (Direct Debit)
GoCardless processes payments directly through customers’ bank accounts.

One-Off Bank Account Payments
A single Direct Debit payment collected directly from the customer’s bank account.Instalment Bank Account Payments
Multiple payments collected over time through an agreed instalment plan.Recurring Bank Account Payments
Ongoing weekly, monthly, or annual Direct Debit payments until cancelled.
SumUp – In-Person Card Payments
SumUp allows clubs to take face-to-face payments using a card reader and mobile device.
This is ideal for payments collected at events, matches, or fundraisers.
Payment Types Available
- One-Off In-Person Card Payments
Members or supporters pay by tapping or inserting their card at the point of sale.
SumUp supports:
- Contactless payments
- Chip and PIN
- Apple Pay and Google Pay
Payments are confirmed instantly and paid out automatically to your bank account.
